6. Staffel 6 (13 Episoden)
Nachdem Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson Major Crimes und das LAPD verlassen hat, übernimmt Captain Raydor die Abteilung. Dies verursacht einige Probleme, da das Team sie aufgrund ihrer früheren Haltung gegenüber Major Crimes zunächst nicht akzeptieren kann. Vor allem Lt. Provenza tut sich sehr schwer, seine neue Chefin zu akzeptieren. Nach dem Abschied von Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson hatte er die Abteilung vorübergehend geleitet und mit einer dauerhaften Beförderung gerechnet. Da er von Raydor wenig hält, bittet er Taylor um Versetzung. Der sagt ihm jedoch unmissverständlich, dass er nur zwei Optionen hat: Bleiben, oder in Rente gehen.

Major Crimes untersucht das Verschwinden von drei 15-jährigen Jungs, die nach einem Schulausflug vermisst werden. Mögliche Motive und Verdächtige kommen aus allen Richtungen und haben Verbindungen zum Drogenhandel genauso wie zur katholischen Kirche. Julio hat aus persönlichen Gründen Urlaub genommen und so werden Buzz derzeit mehr Aufgaben innerhalb der Spezialeinheit übertragen. Bei Sharon und Rusty sorgen Berichte über ein erneutes Auftauchen von Philip Stroh für Unruhe.

Die Suche nach den vermissten Jugendlichen geht weiter. Zeitgleich müssen sich die Ermittler um Captain Sharon Raydor mit einem zwielichtigen Priester, einem zornigen Ex-Ehemann und Drohungen durch das F.B.I. auseinandersetzen. Rusty will sich für eine mögliche, erneute Konfrontation mit Philip Stroh rüsten und bittet Sharon darum, ihn im Gebrauch einer Schusswaffe auszubilden.

Einer der Vermissten wurde gefunden, doch die Suche nach den anderen Jugendlichen der „St. Joseph’s Three“ geht für Major Crimes weiter. Sharon muss verhindern, dass ihr Privatleben zu einer Bedrohung für ihre Karriere wird.

Sharon bricht zusammen und wird ins Krankenhaus gebracht. Dort diagnostizieren die Ärzte einen Herzfehler. Angesichts ihrer baldigen Hochzeit, versucht Sharon Flynn davon zu überzeugen, dass die Behandlung keinen Einfluss auf das Fest oder auf die laufenden Ermittlungen haben wird. Während ihrer Abwesenheit leitet Lt. Provenza die Ermittlungen im Vermissenfall der St. Joseph’s Three. Als die Jugendlichen aber wieder auftauchen, stehen die Ermittler unvermittelt an einem ganz neuen Tatort.

Der Fall der drei Vermissten nimmt eine unerwartete Wendung, als ein Arzt verhaftet wird, der eine Affäre mit einer der Mütter der Jugendlichen hatte. Unterdessen steht die Hochzeit von Sharon und Flynn kurz bevor. Die Chefin der Spezialeinheit versucht alles, um die Ermittlungen, die Hochzeitsvorbereitungen und die Ankunft ihrer exzentrischen Familienmitglieder unter einen Hut zu bringen.

Ein neuer Mordfall hält für die Major Crimes-Ermittler eine ganze Reihe hochkarätiger Verdächtiger bereit. Dazu gehören auch ein berühmter Regisseur und ein früherer Football-Profi. Das Opfer setzte sich als Anwalt für misshandelte Frauen ein. Zeitgleich müssen sich Rusty und Gus mit den Problemen in ihrer Beziehung auseinandersetzen.

Der Fall rund um das Restaurant Tackles hält die Einheit nach wie vor auf Trab. Der Tod einer weiteren Frau führt die Ermittler zu einer ganz anderen Herangehensweise. Währenddessen verschlechtert sich Sharons Gesundheitszustand erneut. Gus reagiert überraschend auf einen Vorschlag von Rusty, der ihrer Beziehung auf die Sprünge helfen soll.

In der 100. Episode nimmt Major Crimes Ermittlungen in zwei Mordfällen auf, bei denen erst nach und nach feststeht, dass sie vom gleichen Täter begangen wurden. Außerdem decken die Beamten eine ganze Reihe sexueller Übergriffe gegen Kellnerinnen eines bekannten Restaurants auf. Während die Ermittler dabei sind, ein neues Täterprofil zu erstellen, müssen sie mit einem unerwarteten Rückschlag fertig werden.

Nachdem sich ihre gesundheitliche Situation weiter verschlechtert hat, muss Sharon eine schwere Entscheidung treffen. Zugleich entwickelt die Leiterin der Spezialeinheit eine neue Theorie bezüglich der Serie von Morden und sexuellen Übergriffen in einem Restaurant. Serienkiller Philip Stroh kehrt nach Los Angeles zurück.

Die Ermittler von Major Crimes kämpfen darum, mit den dramatischen Ereignissen der letzten Tage fertig zu werden. In dieser angespannten Lage erfahren die Beamten von Staatsanwältin Emma Rios, dass Philip Stroh nach Los Angeles zurückgekehrt ist. Noch wissen sie aber nicht, dass Stroh sie längst ins Visier genommen hat. Gemeinsam mit seinem britischen Komplizen Dylan Baxter hackt er sich in die Systeme der Major Crimes Devision und beginnt, die Ermittler zu manipulieren. Unterdessen erhält Rusty einen wichtigen Rat von Sharons Tochter Emily.

Philip Strohs Komplize Dylan Baxter hat sich in die Systeme der Major Crimes-Einheit gehackt und behält die Beamten genau im Auge. Zeitgleich mit den Beamten gerät so auch Stroh auf die Spur seiner Mutter Gwendolyn. Die wird bald darauf mit der Hilfe von Doctor Joe einem Verhör unterzogen und berichtet Major Crimes darin von den Anfängen von Philip Strohs mörderischer Karriere.

Buzz kann den Hacker-Angriff auf Major Crimes stoppen und damit auch Philip Strohs Komplizen identifizieren. Die Ermittler stellen ihm eine Falle. Währenddessen wird die Leiche von Strohs erstem Opfer geborgen. So gelingt es Rusty Verbindungen zu den jüngsten Morden des Serienkillers aufzuzeigen. So liegen seine wahren Motive erstmals nicht mehr im Dunkeln. Unterdessen kämpft Lt. Provenza bei seinem Vorgesetzten Leo Mason für größere Unterstützung.

Im Serienfinale kommen die Ermittler auf die Spur von Philip Strohs Fluchtplan und versuchen zu verhindern, dass der Serienkiller sich absetzt. Rusty ist zeitgleich davon überzeugt, dass sich mehr hinter der Zeugin Miss Bechtel verbirgt. Ohne weitere Unterstützung durch das LAPD versuchen Provenza, Buzz, Rusty und Gus ihren Erzfeind ein für alle Mal zur Strecke zu bringen. Es kommt zu einer tödlichen Konfrontation zwischen Stroh und seinem einstigen Belastungszeugen.
